TEDDY GREAVES JR.

Born in Jamaica and raised between the Bahamas and the United States, Teddy Greaves Jr. was destined for music. His earliest inspiration came from time spent at the legendary Jack Tar Hotel in West End, Grand Bahama, where his father and other bands performed, sparking a lifelong passion for song and stage.

Teddy’s talent emerged early. At just 11 years old, he captivated audiences with a moving rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me To The Moon” during a fundraiser at the Turtle Walk Supper Club in Freeport, Bahamas. He later became a member of the renowned Bahamian funk & disco band T-Connection, before returning to the U.S. to complete his education. There, his natural gift for performance was recognized once again when he was chosen to represent his region as a standout vocalist in his high school choir.

His professional career flourished as he joined reggae outfits such as Paul Lawton and the Night People and later Roots Uprising, a group whose creativity and resilience earned opportunities to perform at iconic venues like the Village Inn in Coconut Grove, Miami. Their sound caught the attention of reggae pioneers Inner Circle, leading to collaborations and recordings that helped shape Teddy’s musical path.

Alongside his brothers, Teddy made a strong impression on Stevie Wonder during a nationwide audition for the band Happiness Unlimited. This pivotal moment led to the formation of JaRock, a powerhouse collective featuring some of the Caribbean’s most notable musicians, including Garth Bright, Dorrell “Fish” Salmon, Maurice Smith, Richie Barr, and Tony “Ruption” Williams, under the management of Hart Richards.

Even while serving in the military, Teddy never strayed from his passion. He formed bands such as Aurora and Balero, performing across the U.S. and even at major sporting events, including the Women’s Fast Pitch Softball Tournament in Columbus, GA.

Teddy Greaves Jr. also became a former member of The Fantells, the legendary reggae group originally formed in Jamaica in 1975, further solidifying his place in reggae history.

Today, Teddy is working in collaboration with Ed Robinson and Joanna Marie of Global Digital Records on a highly anticipated upcoming album project. The first single from this project is his soulful rendition of Kool & The Gang’s timeless classic “Joanna,” set for release on September 19, 2025.

With decades of experience, a rich musical lineage, and a voice that blends soul, jazz, reggae, and R&B with effortless grace, Teddy Greaves Jr. stands as a seasoned artist whose story is still being written — one heartfelt performance at a time.
